- Supporting women from CALD backgrounds who are victims/survivors of sexual assault: Challenges and opportunities for practitioners (2011) by Annabelle Alimant and Beata Ostapiej-Piatkowski. This Wrap aims to raise awareness of the circumnstances of refugee and immigrant women who are survivors of sexual violence as they establish new lives in Australia. - Culturally responsive family dispute resolution in FRC’s (2011), Dr Susan Armstrong. This research report provides a framework for enhancing access to and delivering culturally responsive family dispute resolution (FDR) services.
- Perceptions of Multiculturalism and Security in Victoria, Monash University report (2009). The report reflects public acceptance of diversity as being about all Australians and a preference for a whole-of-community perspective on issues and solutions. The research also uncovered some areas of public concern including media potrayals of particular minority groups and issues surrounding integration, settlement services and social inclusion.
- Beyondblue, the national depression initiative in partnership with Multicultural Mental Health Australia (MMHA) has extended its reach to people from non-English speaking backgrounds. Several fact sheets have been translated into 19 languages, bringing the total number of languages other than English to 25.
- Advocacy Help Kit Developed by the Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) on behalf of the Detention Working Group. This kit is for use by advocacy groups and those working with refugees and asylum seekers in NSW.
- Enhancing family and relationship service accessibility and delivery to culturally and linguistically diverse families in Australia (2008), by Pooja Sawrikar and Ilan Katz. This paper builds on, and synthesises the emerging international and national literature to develop a practice and policy framework that can be used to help overcome inequities in access to family relationship services for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) families in Australia. - The Child Support Agency offers a variety ofpublications in languages other than English.
- Achieving outcomes for children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CaLD), by Sims et al. The paper reviews a number of innovative programs that have been established in Australia and identifies key features of service provision that are most likely to lead to successful social inclusion of children and families from CaLD backgrounds, recommending that these principles be applied more broadly.
