- Mind your head is a book available for purchase ($6.00) which offers information for 15-25-year-olds, teachers, parents and other professionals on the different drugs and their effects on mental health, strategies for looking after mental health, and getting help and support. - The Impact of Drought on Mental Health and Alcohol Use, Edwards et al (2009). The Australian Institute of Family Studies has released more information from its 2008 study that focused on how people are coping with drought. The results of this study shows higher percentages of mental illness in communities where the drought has been the most severe.
- Getting Better – Recovering from mental illness factsheet, SANE (2009). This practical easy to read guide explains how feeling better after an episode of mental illness is more likely if people know where to go and what treatment and support they are entitled to.
- Beacon E-Health Website, developed by the Centre for Mental Health Research and supported by the Mental Health Council of Australia is an interactive website. Once registered users can have access to a world-first compilation and evaluation of online mental and physical e-health programs from all over the world. Reviewed programs vary across a range of categories including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety and eating disorders.
- Australian Family Relationships Clearinghouse Briefing Number 8: Family issues in suicide postvention, by Louise Flynn & Elly Robinson. This paper explores post-suicide outcomes for those closest to the one who dies, particularly family and friends. Strategies to support and counsel the suicide-bereaved are outlined.
- Towards recovery: mental health services in Australia, Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs (posted 03-10-2008). This report makes recommendations aimed at setting a clearer future for mental health in Australia, providing greater accountability, improving the programs and services that already exist and addressing some of the remaining gaps and shortfalls. - Beyondblue, the national depression initiative in partnership with Multicultural Mental Health Australia (MMHA) has extended its reach to people from non-English speaking backgrounds. Several fact sheets have been translated into 19 languages, bringing the total number of languages other than English to 25.
- COAG mental health early intervention measure: early childhood component - study to scope potential service delivery, Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care and Early Childhood Australia. As part of the COAG Mental Health Initiative (Early Childhood Component), Early Childhood Australia (ECA), working closely with the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC), was funded to undertake a study to scope potential delivery settings for early childhood services and mental health support for young children.

This website will be the leading point of information for young people, their families and the community.
- Children caring for parents experiencing mental health problems now have access to a national resource centre, containing information sheets, tips and information on State and Territory based programs for young people and parents.
- At ease: mental health for veterans, Department of Veteran's Affairs. Tools and information for managing mental health and wellbeing in the veteran community.
- Employer Tool-Kit: Employing peer workers in your organisation from Baptist Community Services contains information about the employment of peer workers with a lived experience of mental illness; with guidelines for training and on-the-job mentoring.
- Developed by Ruah Community Services' Overview of Mental Illness was produced to assist workers whose primary role is working with the children of families where one or both parents has a mental illness.
- Ruah Community Services' Inside a Family Under Pressure: The Impact of Parental Mental Illness on the Family, was prepared as a booklet to supplement and resource workers from across sectors participating in the training workshop on this topic.
- AFRC Briefing No. 12 – Housing stress and the mental health and well being of families (2008), by Elly Robinson and Rennell Adams. This paper explores the relationship between housing affordability, housing stress, and mental health and wellbeing. The relevance to family and relationship service provision is explored and ideas for service responses are provided.

- Clinician’s perspective of the relocation of a regional child and adolescent mental health service from co-located to stand alone premises, Francis et. al, Rural and Remote Health 8 (Online). Although children and adolescents admitted to mental health facilities or community programs have the right to attend those which are suitable to their developmental needs, in rural Australia, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are sometimes co-located with adult mental health services. This study evaluates the impact of this and the influence of co-located versus stand-alone settings on mental health service delivery.

- Adult attachment in children raised by parents with schizophrenia (2009), Grant Duncan and Julee Browning. This report presents the findings of a recent study comprised of semi-structured interviews with 23 adults who were raised with a parent who experienced schizophrenia.
- Parenthood and mental illness: A sociological journey through silenced experiences of illness (2009), Melanie Boursnell. This thesis examines the experiences of parents with mental illness and provides a greater understanding of how parents negotiate their parenting role within the context of socially prescribed notions, limited agency, and limited capacity due to a lack of support services for parents with mental illness.
